Terms and Conditions

1. Centre Facilities

To maintain a safe and respectful training environment, all members and guests must follow these rules:

  • Return all gloves, ropes, and equipment to their designated place after use.
  • Bags are not permitted on the gym floor (use lockers or approved storage areas).
  • Wear appropriate gym attire and clean runners/sneakers at all times.
  • Do not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Use a sweat towel and wipe down equipment after use.
  • Treat staff and other members with respect at all times.

Just Box may make reasonable changes to facilities, programs, and class schedules without notice. Membership may be revoked for any breach of these conditions.

Note: Just Box is a strictly non-smoking venue. Smoking and vaping are prohibited anywhere on the premises.

2. Health & Risk Acknowledgement

Boxing and fitness training involve inherent risks including, but not limited to, muscle strains, fractures, concussion, serious injury, or (in rare cases) death.

By participating you confirm you are medically fit to train, you accept all risks associated with boxing and fitness training, and you release Just Box, its directors, staff, and contractors from liability except where required by law.

3. Sparring

  • Sparring is permitted only under the direct supervision of a qualified Just Box trainer.
  • Sparring must comply with the Boxing South Australia Sparring Safety Policy.
  • Protective equipment must be worn as directed by the supervising coach.

4. Membership Conditions

  • Memberships are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Term memberships (3, 6, or 12 months) operate from the agreed start and end dates.
  • Early cancellation prior to the end of a fixed-term agreement will incur a fee equal to 50% of the remaining contract value.

5. Membership Charges & Payment

  • Members are responsible for all membership fees regardless of attendance.
  • Membership fees may change due to operational requirements or government surcharges; members will be notified via in-gym notices or the Just Box website.
  • Dishonoured payments may incur an administration fee.

6. Direct Debit Memberships

  • Fees are automatically deducted weekly, fortnightly, or monthly via the nominated account.
  • A minimum 3-month commitment applies. No cancellations or suspensions may occur within this period.
  • After the minimum term, cancellations require at least 7 days’ written notice before the next debit date.
  • Memberships continue on a rolling basis until written cancellation is submitted.

7. Membership Suspensions

Suspensions are permitted only after completion of the initial 3-month commitment period.

  • Members may suspend their membership for up to four (4) weeks per membership year at no charge. The minimum suspension period is seven (7) consecutive days.
  • Suspension requests must be submitted in writing with at least seven (7) days’ notice and must include start and end dates.
  • Additional suspension time beyond the complimentary four (4) weeks may be approved at a rate of $1 per day.
  • Medical suspensions may be granted upon provision of a valid medical certificate.
  • Membership payments resume automatically at the end of the approved suspension period.

8. Expulsion or Termination of Membership

Membership may be terminated:

  • Immediately and without notice if a member’s conduct is unsafe, inappropriate, or damaging to Just Box’s reputation.
  • Via written notice if membership fees remain unpaid for 14 days beyond the due date.

Members who are expelled or terminated forfeit all membership rights and are not entitled to refunds.

9. Damage & Personal Property

Members are responsible for any damage caused to equipment or property.

Just Box is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings. Lockers are provided as a convenience only.

10. Photography & Media

Just Box may use images or video captured within the facility for marketing purposes.

Members who do not consent must notify management in writing.

11. Changes to Services

Just Box reserves the right to modify class schedules, change trainers, adjust programs, or close temporarily for maintenance or public holidays. Such changes do not entitle members to refunds.

Just Box will be closed annually from 24 December (Christmas Eve) through to 1 January (New Year’s Day) inclusive. Normal operations resume on 2 January unless otherwise advised.

In addition, Just Box will be closed on all gazetted South Australian public holidays unless otherwise announced.

Where possible, advance notice of holiday closures will be provided via in-gym signage, social media, or the Just Box website.

Holiday closures do not entitle members to refunds, credits, or fee reductions unless otherwise determined at management’s discretion.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of South Australia.

Boxing South Australia Sparring Safety Policy

Effective Date: 21 February 2026

Policy Display: This policy must be prominently displayed at the entry and within the sparring area of all gyms and clubs registered with Boxing South Australia (Boxing SA).

  1. Supervision:

Sparring is permitted only under the direct supervision of a boxing coach accredited by Boxing Australia and registered with Boxing SA. Coaches must hold current accreditation and adhere to the coaching standards set forth by Boxing Australia. All athletes participating in sparring activities must be registered with Boxing SA to ensure insurance coverage.

  1. Mandatory Protective Equipment:

Athletes must wear the following protective gear during sparring sessions:

  • Mouthguard
  • Head guard
  • Groin protector
  • Any additional protective equipment as directed by the supervising coach
  1. Equipment Standards:

Sparring gloves must be in good condition, free from defects, and suitable for safe use.

  1. Hygiene Protocols:

Any blood present on gloves or the body must be cleaned promptly and thoroughly to maintain a hygienic environment.

  1. Risk Acknowledgment:

Participants are advised that sparring carries inherent risks, including infection, injury, or, in rare cases, death. By engaging in sparring, athletes acknowledge and accept these risks.

  1. Infection Control and Vaccination:

Hepatitis B is a serious illness that can be transmitted through blood contact. Vaccination is an effective preventive measure. Athletes are strongly advised to consult with their healthcare provider regarding Hepatitis B vaccination.

  1. Concussion Management:

In the event of a diagnosed or suspected concussion, athletes must adhere to Boxing Australia’s concussion management protocols, which include refraining from training and competition until medically cleared. Detailed guidelines are available on Boxing Australia’s medical page.

  1. Compliance with Integrity Policies:

All participants must comply with Boxing Australia’s National Integrity Framework, which includes policies on member protection, child safeguarding, improper use of drugs and medicine, competition manipulation, social media and sport wagering.

  1. Medical Examinations:

Athletes participating in sparring sessions are encouraged to undergo regular medical examinations to ensure they are fit to participate. While the Boxing and Martial Arts Act 2000 mandates medical clearances for contestants in professional or public boxing events, similar diligence is recommended for all sparring participants to promote safety and well-being.
